Terms of Service & Payment Policy
Effective January 1st, 2026
These Terms of Service govern all professional land surveying services provided by Reddoch Land Surveying. By contacting Reddoch Land Surveying to request, authorize, or order any service — whether by phone, email, website contact form, or in person — the requesting party agrees to these terms in full. No written signature is required for these terms to be enforceable. These terms are disclosed and summarized in all outgoing email correspondence and are permanently available at reddochlandsurveying.com/terms.
1. Payment Terms
All invoices are due upon receipt. If payment is not received within 30 days of the invoice date, Reddoch Land Surveying reserves the right to asses a late fee of 15% of the outstanding balance. This fee reflects administrative and collection costs associated with overdue accounts and is disclosed at the time of engagement. Reddoch Land Surveying reserves the right to enforce or waive this fee at its sole discretion.
2. Personal Liability of the Ordering Party
The individual or entity who orders or authorizes surveying services — including but not limited to realtors, attorneys, title companies, mortgage lenders, and other intermediaries — is personally and directly liable for full payment of the invoiced amount, regardless of whether services were ordered on behalf of a property owner, buyer, seller, or any other third party.
The ordering party is solely responsible for collecting payment from their client and remitting it to Reddoch Land Surveying. Reddoch Land Surveying has no obligation to pursue, contact, or negotiate with any third party on whose behalf services were ordered. Non-payment by a third party does not relieve the ordering party of their obligation to pay in full.
3. Withholding of Deliverables
Reddoch Land Surveying expressly reserves the right to withhold all deliverables — including but not limited to survey plats, boundary surveys, elevation certificates, topographic surveys, and legal descriptions — until payment has been received in full. Where a deliverable has already been provided prior to receipt of payment, all rights to collect the outstanding balance remain fully intact. Delivery of any work product does not constitute a waiver of payment rights.
4. Ownership of Field Materials & Right of Retrieval
Notice Regarding Flag and Corner Marker Jobs:
For any job involving the placement of flags, stakes, lath, or temporary corner markers in the field, Reddoch Land Surveying retains full ownership of all physical materials placed until payment is received in full. These materials are provided as part of the service and remain the property of Reddoch Land Surveying until the invoice is satisfied.
In the event of non-payment, Reddoch Land Surveying reserves the right — but is not obligated — to return to the subject property and retrieve any flags, stakes, lath, or temporary markers placed during the survey. This right may be exercised if the customer has not remitted payment and notified Reddoch Land Surveying of said payment — including notification in the case of mailed payments — within 48 hours of job completion. Reddoch Land Surveying shall bear no liability for any consequence arising from the lawful retrieval of its own unpaid materials from a property.
5. Surveyor's Privilege and Lien Rights
Reddoch Land Surveying expressly reserves the right to file a surveyor's privilege and lien against any immovable property upon which services were rendered, pursuant to Louisiana Revised Statutes §9:4801 et seq. and §37:682, in the event of non-payment. All costs associated with filing, recording, and serving said lien — including Calcasieu Parish recording fees, certified mail, and related administrative costs — will be added to the outstanding balance owed by the responsible party.
6. Collections and Legal Proceedings
In the event Reddoch Land Surveying must pursue collection through legal proceedings, all filing fees, attorney fees, court costs, and related expenses shall be recoverable as part of the claim to the extent permitted by law. All disputes arising from services rendered by Reddoch Land Surveying shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, and governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana.
7. Constructive Notice & Acceptance of Terms
These terms are disclosed in the email signature of all outgoing correspondence from Reddoch Land Surveying and are permanently published at reddochlandsurveying.com/terms. Requesting, authorizing, or accepting any surveying service from Reddoch Land Surveying — by any means of communication — constitutes full acceptance of these Terms of Service. The ordering party is presumed to have had notice of these terms whether or not they were explicitly discussed in any phone call, text message, or in-person conversation. These terms are binding on the ordering party and any entity on whose behalf they act.
